Happy New Year!

We were ringing in the New Year family style!
(Thanks to our awesome friends and their awesome party!)

May 2014 be a year of family, friends, food, all things sparkly, and lots and lots of dance parties!

RubySkyPhotographyNewYearsDayI can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this year!

Hello, Spring?

As I sit here writing this blog post, the snow is still falling and swirling around the yard outside my window.  We’ve learned to become skeptical of the weather forecast and 10-20 inches seemed a little extreme.  However, the snow started late last night and is just now beginning to taper off.  I’d say that we got around 13-15 inches or so in the end!  It’s been forever since we’ve had that much snow.  And believe it or not, the following pictures of “Lenten Roses” were taken only yesterday.  These flowers are the very first to bloom at our house and they are so beautiful.  Enjoy!

So long, 2012

As 2012 soon fades into memory, I want to thank each one of you for making this an AMAZING year!  It simply could not have been possible without you, our clients, for entrusting us to capture those passing moments in your lives, and of course for the never-ending support of our family and friends.  So a huge THANK YOU goes out to you!!!  And I’m so excited for what lies ahead next year!

A Foggy Morning

I had a “revelation” yesterday….well, not exactly, but I was again reminded of the fact that….taking on a personal project and making art “just because” is very good for the soul.  It’s refreshing, it’s a pause in a very busy schedule, and it’s just what I needed.  I awoke yesterday morning with not a thought of any of this.  Upon stepping outside, I was enveloped in a late summer fog….the kind that leaves it’s mark on everything, the kind that is absolutely wondrous for taking pictures.  And what did I find all around me yesterday morning?  This….

Yes, this….an infinite number of spider webs covered in dewy drops.  And let me first say that I absolutely detest spiders, but what I found around me was truly wonderful and breathtaking!  And how amazing that no two spiders webs are alike (just like snowflakes, but I love snowflakes! :)).  Enjoy a little glimpse of my “just because” photography.

AMAZING!!!  (but I still don’t like spiders!)
