Tashia + David {wedding} Confluence Resort, WV — Part 2

And here is Part 2 of Tashia and David’s amazing “bohemian/romantic with modern touches” wedding!  If you missed yesterday’s post, Part 1, go there first to read the full story of this West Virginia wedding day.

After Tashia and David exchanged wedding vows and sped by in their awesome Russian Ural sidecar motorcycle, we met them just down the road, back a lane, and in the woods, at their very own 5-acre plot of land.  Future plans for them are to build a home there and it truly is a beautiful space.  A group photo with said motorcycle.

Tashia and her bridesmaids.

David and his groomsmen.

The wedding party.  This group was one fun bunch!

When we were driving in towards the resort, we passed this field and knew that the resulting photos would be breathtaking.  (Though we were all picking seeds out of our shoes afterwards!)

And they had absolutely no qualms about driving that motorcycle into the field.

The evening light was so pretty and perfect.

A few more pictures with the antique car.

Everyone had such a great time that day!

Down the hill from the tent, there’s a pavilion and a barn.  They set up lots of spaces for people to mingle, hangout, and just have a great evening.  The typewriter….their guest book….and what a fabulous idea it was!

The barn had a bar outside and space inside for music and dancing.

Tashia and David’s reactions to the toasts. :)

Drinks, cakes, and other assorted yummy desserts.

They even had a bonfire.

The Patrick Sweany Band, out of Nashville.

And then everyone danced the night away.

Thank you Tashia and David!  Your wedding day was phenomenal!

Tashia + David {wedding} Confluence Resort, WV — Part 1

This wedding is what dreams are made of….LOVED every minute of it!  (Except for getting a speeding ticket on the drive over there.  Can that be a business tax write-off?  Ha!)  Anyway, Tashia contacted me early last year telling me that she and David were planning their wedding and it would to be held at the Confluence Resort in West Virginia.  (The venue is in Fayette County, near the New River Gorge and Fayetteville.)  And if you know nothing about this area, then I will tell you that the natural beauty is absolutely amazing!  Tashia also said that they were going for a “bohemian/romantic with modern touches” theme and I was very excited about everything!

Tashia and David had a sort of running joke that it was my job to make sure to take a photo worthy of the cover shot for WV Weddings magazine.  A picture from their friends’ wedding made the cover a couple of year ago, and they were determined to do even better.  Only a little friendly competition. :)  Well, even though we did not make the cover, I’m so proud and completely honored that Tashia and David’s wedding and RubySky Photography were still chosen to be featured (see their feature here) in the 2013 issue of WV Weddings magazine!!!  And actually, the editors chose one of our photos as one of ten “Cover Finalists” (the photo below), so we were so very close!  The close-up shot of the girls’ bouquets was also chosen to be included in the “Wedding Wows” section, under “bridesmaid bouquets”.  And….their wedding was chosen as an “Editor’s Pick”!  Yay!

It has been quite some time since I have split up a wedding on this blog into Part 1 and Part 2, but this wedding warranted just that.  There are just too many photos that I want to share….  So that means that you need to check back tomorrow for Part 2 of Tashia and David’s wedding!

The dress:  BHLDN’s Greenhouse Gala gown.

The vintage necklace:  a 1940′s-era silver bib necklace (a gift from David).

The shoes and the vintage brooch:  Yeah, about that brooch, it accidentally made it’s way back to Virginia in my camera bag and I had to mail it to her!  I’m so sorry again, Tashia!

The stunning location of Tashia and David’s “First Look”.  The beautiful mountains of West Virginia!

I love this moment of pure happiness.

They are so fun and sweet together.

LOVE these two shots.

DIY bouquets, made by Tashia’s friend.

The tented cocktail hour and dinner location.

“Welcome drinks” at the Cherri Bluff Overlook.

The ceremony site.  David painted Pablo Neruda’s poem, “The Queen”, on a six-foot canvas for their ceremony backdrop.

Tashia and her father arrived at the ceremony in a classy vintage Chevy.

This makes me smile.

I love a wedding with laughter.  And lovely light.

Their friend officiated the ceremony.  She was going to place her notes inside an old book, but the book was falling apart.  The next best thing….a cookbook!

Just a normal exit from their ceremony and then, “SURPRISE!”

LOVE.  LOVE.  LOVE.  They sped by their guests in a replica vintage Russian Ural sidecar motorcycle!!!

And that is only Part 1 of this amazing wedding.  There’s even more awesomeness, so please check back tomorrow! :)
